Hi All:

I'm looking to get out & shoot the WNYP next month. Could really use help with a rough idea of train times - particularly on the Buffalo Line.

Thanks for the assist,

Frank

Lately, WNYP operations on the Buffalo Line side have been as follows:

OL-1 on duty between 3-5pm at Olean to work south to Farmers Valley or Port Allegeheny and return.

DFT on duty between 8-10pm at Olean to work south to Driftwood and return.

A curiousity question - if these are locals why are they running them so late in the day (night really)? Overhead traffic runs during the day? Plant operations of the consignees?

I can't say for certain, but the NS local that used to work down the Farmers Valley Sec. was an evening/overnight local, so that may be why the OL-1 goes to work when it does, customer preference for work overnight.

The DFT is called late to match up with the interchange cars off NS H4W at Driftwood, H4W usually arrives there between 8-10pm to set out, so the cars are waiting at Driftwood when DFT arrives. Also, the DFT usually uses power off the ZYT, a daylight local.
