Found it interesting that ex-MARC 59 was pulled from storage and was out back at the
west end of BET Sunday too.

Rumor it is being prepared to be shipped west to MPI.

I heard they were prepping it for service until upstairs pulled the rug out from under it. Why would they be sending one engine back? (This probably belongs in the "Status of equip..." thread)

Scrapping has been halted temporarily due to damage to the Scrapper's claw equipped excavator. The lower jaw split open while attempting the slice up the ex B&M PS-2 covered hopper. Oh, and they got caught with their boom out to foul, hanging out over the Fitchburg Mainline.

There's a certain irony there.

Maybe they're trying to make the next 1710 ;-)

The 59 is back out with the rest of the WH's.

Looks like there's another F40 rebuild out in the broken pile as well. Seems like they're going to really be hurting for power soon...

Well with 2001 almost ready to go for revenue service and plenty of ready to ship HSPs in reserve, hopefully the power shortage wont last long

The 1016 is completely gone now, cab and all. Now she's just a memory.

Now that's just sad :-( Anyone know which units will be replaced with the new ones and what the plan is for the ones that are replaced?
Exact plans? No. Those that do know usually aren't posting on here.

It's been stated a few dozen times that the new units will replace the screamers and the worst of the GP40s. Which units go first will likely depend on their condition. As SERY pointed out, common sense dictates that the more powerful HSP's will migrate to the southside and displace the F40 rebuilds north.

1016's number boards appear to have been removed prior to the cab being scrapped. I wonder if they'll pop up at the WardMaps store.

Two employees got there hands on them, I can assure you neither one will be looking to part with them either. Plenty more to go around soon ;).
