I never knew the LVRC but its sad to see another piece of New England railroading history lost.

Sad to see another lost. It's safe to say 7801 will be around for awhile on the D-L, and 7802/7803 appear to still be part of the Pioneer Rail Services system. In terms of trains 87 times smaller, I've progressed a little more on my model of 7804 since I last posted photos...

No that is not me. You may be thinking of Mike McNamara who models the LVRC before the chopnose era.

I think #7802 was scrapped years ago. It was damaged while on the LVRC. That's why they got #7805.

Pics of #7802:

#7803 was out of service in Iowa back in 2008. I've asked if it is still around.

Interestingly I was in St J yesterday. I noticed they are making progress with the rail trail into town. I think there is only one more missing bridge that still needs to be replaced/reworked and then you can ride the trail from Joes Pond to St J. Not sure what all needs to be done for the trail to continue to Hardwick. Stinks that its not rail but at least the area will be getting some benefit and the ROW will be maintained.

Does anyone know where former LVRC #7802 is in Iowa?

It's presently: West Michigan RR #203.

Ex LVRC #7803 is being scrapped in IL.

So now we're down to what, 7801 and 3612? Shucks.

Some of the Lamoille still around. The city of Walcott is pushing the owner of a GE 70 ton switcher to remove the engine from public property. Its been setting by the old train station for years.

The owner says he plans to restore. Not sure why.

They should donate the engine to either Brooks Preservation Society for restoration and use on the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad or donate it to the Downeast Scenic Railroad.
My 2 cents.

There is at least ONE Lamoille Valley coach still left in original paint at the Valley RR in CT.
There are others which have already been repainted.

That engine is junk. I don't think it has its engine still in it.

That's fine, was just throwing a little humor into it.
