Ladysmith Wisconsin had a twister go right up the middle of town in Sep. 2002. There is a Soo Line F7 and 3 coaches on display there. The twister went right past them. The coaches blew over, the locomotive stayed upright. I believe TRAINS had a picture of the damage a couple of months later.

Well its a long time ago , and in a different country , but on a mountainous line in New Zealand , they used to carry chains on the trains . If they encountered high winds , the procedure was to stop and chain the train to the track . Trains were alot lighter in those days i guess .

Well, if an F3 can survive a twister, then a GE Will certainly have NO problem.
