It's down to 1, 1071 has the MBTX tag and is prepped for shipment.

1071 headed to Middleboro today for CSX to take west - which makes the 1072 the last one standing.

...and here's 1072 leading Fitchburg line train 411 into Ayer on Monday 3/6/23.

Looks like CSX rejected the 1071. Went back to Boston Saturday on the same extra which brought up the 1053 from Middleboro.

What? Why would CSX reject it? Did it present some kind of hazard?

Two different defects. I can't say anymore specific.

The 1071 never made it onto the Extra Saturday. the Mid Extra Saturday was a disaster, only the 1053 and 6 Rotems made it back to Readville

Oh boy. Wonder if they will try to work on the 1071 at Middleboro? Left the two 900 series coaches behind too!

1071 is still at BET. 1072 has been brought inside and stripped. The era of zipper schemed F40s has ended.

Are you saying that they are no longer running them and getting them ready to be shipped to be rebuilt? If so, that’s sad and I’m glad I caught 1072 one last time when I did.

I thought I'd made that pretty clear. Both went south with Readville Wednesday night.
