Any update on RB-1 location?

Santa Train ,Freehold today

looks like a decent crowd

At Freehold the line to see Santa started from the caboose with the end being just near the engine. Bigger turnout than I thought, but nowhere near as many people as the Conrail version drew.

Overall, it was okay.

When removing spikes from a tie, it is not a good idea to spike the realigned plates into those same holes. The common procedure to make the rails as stable as possible is to hammer wooden 'plugs' into the old spike holes, flip the tie over and then spike into good wood.

(But don't hammer plugs into rain filled spike holes, you will get a face full of creosote-flavored rain water...been there, done that)

Keep in mind, they also stopped at 3 other places, with all locations having a mind blowing sized crowd, Jamesburg in particular (can send image later). They even got a lot of people to show up at businesses including Builders General and Reed & Perrine, which is also very good for business promotion.

If we look at all the aspects, they did a way better job than conrail. The community and kids seemed to have a blast with the C&D Santa Train!

Anyone know if Extech is still an active customer? I’ve noticed an increasing amount of inbound loads coming in by truck lately…
