This safety division you mentioned, would they do what this guy did? Going to each crossing with his lights on and using his loudspeaker to tell kids to stay back?NO, their function was stated in my post: Railroad Safety Division: "The Office of Railroad Safety's divisions serve as technical experts on matters of railroad safety and aid in the development of regulations and the evaluation of waivers submittals ".
Federal Railroad Police, to my knowledge, are who shows up at your house one day (or the day after) you go railfanning and do something interpreted as dangerous near the tracks. They usually take your name and information, tell you what you did wrong, and if your really unlucky they will charge you. A few people I know have had this experience.As I and others have said, there is no such entity as "Federal Railroad Police" The people you know are not credible.
