The current Trains seems to have missed the existance of that C415.

Ditto for Railfan & Railroad -they also neglected BSOR's C415.

IT APPEARS THAT RJ CORMAN HAS COMPLETELY REBUILT THE BUFFALO SOUTHERN FROM BLASDELL TO HAMBURG. LOOKS LIKE A CLASS 1 MAIN LINE. THEY DID A HECK OF A JOB.

Ok let's talk buffalo southerns stored rs 3. Was this engine ever of lehigh valley vintage before it was adirondack ? Someone told me a rs3 from them might be coming to williamsville as a static display however there seams to be no information on its first owners thanks

No, the RS-3 is ex Delaware & Hudson. The Lehigh Valley unit is the ex South Buffalo S2 #107. It also had been stored at Eden with a cracked block.

Thanks everybody thinking it was the rs 3 but that's why I questioned the vintage thanks

I happened to drive by and note the green S2, ex-QGRY/CP C424 and C415 in the same place they've been.

Before the engine can be moved to williamsville the prime mover and traction motors are supposed to be removed .The wnyhrs indicated the S2 weighs in excess of 200000 or one hundred tons ouch tough to move with that much weight. Cost to move this would be a lot more than the caboose. They are also planning to bring in a lv boxcar in eventually. The lv is coming back to williamsville depot one piece at a time. The plans for all this are still up in the air depending on money, man power and of course red tape.

The July issue of Railpace says the Buffalo Southern has had an increase in traffic. Mainly from an oil transfer site in Hamburg.

They need additional motive power and would like to revive C420 2010.

The December issue of Railpace says the railroad was doing work on C424M #4212.

Here's a pic I took of it in Hamburg about 2 years ago:

I visited the Buffalo Southern on Thursday around 11:30am. Beautiful sunshine, but of course no trains were running.
