40th Anniversary Train

Whatever this train is officially being called, it is preparing a for a little road trip out west. The 822/406 and cafe/store car is supposed to be included.

The sleeper has been removed from the consist at Penn Coach Yard. It was still present on June 14.

It's in DC for PM. It'll be back when this trip kicks off in a few weeks.

406 and 822 are at Race Street Engine Facility.

Amtrak display train at Spencer, NC

The 40th Anniversary train was on display at Boston's South Station on August 6th of last year.
The train did a nationwide tour between May 1st of 2011 and May of 2012. I think the formal
tour is over and it only shows up now at special railroad events.

The heritage unit 822 is heading RR West (south) on train 67 tonight out of Boston. The leader is 110 822 (elephant style) baggage car and 4 passenger cars. Train departs Boston South Station at 930 PM....I saw this set tonight being prepped in Southampton St. Yard in Boston

#822 was on Train #143 from Springfield, MA to New Haven, CT this morning Saturday 07/21.

the 822 is going to be on The Vermonter, train 57 tomorrow 7/22 she went up on 54 today 7/21 after her New Haven arrival this morning

Yeah, I caught the engine idling in the New Haven Amtrak yard the other day, I was wondering about that.

Early Tonight #822 went on Train #140 to Springfield, MA and It will be on Train #141 tomorrow morning.
