Also if your in Milltown New Jersey, there's the Raritan River Railroad's freight building along the it's former tracks on what I believe is Milltown Road. It still has the name painted on the building.
Its actually on Washington Avenue. There is a big sign on its side saying "RARITAN RIVER RAILROAD FREIGHT STATION." Still in pretty decent condition as well.

There is a CNJ logo on the RR overpass on rock avenue (i believe that is the street) between piscataway and greenbrook. It was there for some time as I remember passing under that bridge in the early eighties on the way to relatives in green brook.

I didn't know that NJT was repainting those logos on the bridges.

In Newark, on the corner of Badger st. and W.Alpine St where Clinton Ave Joins W. Alpine, (nice area, by the way) there are two bumping blocks with Keystones on them. Keystones? Isn't this LV territory?

The West Newark Branch of the PRR's New York Bay RR went out that way.

I'd love to know whatever happened to the ornate Lackawanna sign that was located above the canopied stairway entrance up to the westbound platform at Newark-Broad Street station.

I think it said....'Westward Trains - Buffalo/Chicago'

I know they survived at least thru the early 1980's....

And BTW, what did NJT do with all the ornately printed/painted station signs on the ex-Lackawanna lines when they started putting up those cheapish looking 'flavor-striped' NJTransit replacements ?

I know not signage, but there is one old style lamppost in Red Bank on the westbound platform, about half way down, near the taxi building. Its the old pipe style, ive seen them in old pictures in South Amboy and Matawan, but they are all long gone, this is the only one that I know of left.

I know that a lot of them were stored in the Netcong station for a while. I tried to find out what happened to them but my NJT contact moved on...

The two ERIE logos carved into concrete over US 46/23 in Wayne will be there for another 50 years I'm sure. North of Singac and south of NYGL Mountain View.

There used to be a traffic circle over which the railroad passed and two bridges were inserted into the embankment. Each says ERIE on each side. The west side of the westbound bridge (side facing away from traffic) still says ERIE very clearly, as does the east side of the eastbound.

There are some Erie Markers left on the bridges in Rutherford. One over Hackensack Street and the other over Rt. 17. Also, you have a sign from the EL at Passaic Station, and the Erie Logo on the Turn table at Port Jervis.

Lackawanna484, Picture #3 is very similar to the 46 overpass. I would photograph that bridge too, but I don't think there is any safe place to photograph it from.

The other side of this trestle used to say "Erie Main Line - N.Y. to Chicago" or something along those lines. Its to faded to make out 100%.

And I guess these count to as old signage...

I used to have tons more, but a while back I had a hard drive failure and lost a boat load of pictures. Enjoy them...

Just for fun, look at this shot from the 1970's, courtesy of Joe at www.raritanriverrailroad.com. It shows RRRR #2 crossing the bridge with a full assortment of cars!

I just noticed today that the green PC "Elizabeth" sign is GONE!!!! It couldn't of been that easy to get off in one piece since a bullhorn type speaker was mounted right on top of it and its still there......

L A C K A W A N N A R R still neatly etched in the concrete above Roman-like columns in what used to be the main pedestrian entrance to the old Montclair Terminal....aka Lackawanna Plaza....adjacent to Bloomfield Ave..

This entranceway was sealed-up with large glass windows in the late 1980's when this once grand and bustling 6-track terminal was sold and redeveloped into a quasi mini-mall.

E R I E with the year 1926 ( I think ) beneath....etched into the 3-track wide concrete bridge ( 2-tracks since the mid 1980's ) in Montclair that spans the depressed roadway of Chestnut Street near Woodman Field.

Thye Passaic station still has a sign reading "No trespassing - by order of Erie Lacakwanna Railroad Police Department."

It is on the westbound side.
