When this photo was taken back in 2008, CA Route 138, “Rim of the World Scenic Byway” was a twisty, curvey, crazy fun drive.
California has since upgraded the road; however, they have included a summit scenic lookout spot so this photo is still very much possible to take. The scenic outlook is approx. 3.5 miles east from where CA 138 meets I-15.
The best times for photography are Fall, Winter, and Spring mornings.
