Alco C420's Pt Jeff route is excellent! I have one of the original versions and let me tell you he did a beautiful job with what he had to work with. All the grades and radius of track are the proper way. Here's two screenshots I took last night. I did a little research yesterday and found out how to take them. Photo 1 is the train comming into Smithtown Station eastbound and Photo 2 is the train approching Route 112 in Pt Jeff.

Nice photos everyone! The route looks incredible. There's one thing missing though. You need a picture of Emfinites head sticking out the window at B Tower.

Thanks John. Here a couple of scenes. The first is the Kings Park Psych Center coal trestle. This is pretty close to how it looked until 1964. The track in the background is where the current powerhouse is. The building in the foreground was part of the old powerhouse. The building in the background is Group IV. The second is a RF coal extra leaving Kings Park at milepost 43 around 3:30PM with 8 empties bound for Greenlawn.

Hey all, I'm new to this site and I must say that you all have done EXCELLANT work and I look forward (and hope) to play with the LIRR on MSTS as I have been waiting for EVER for someone to come out with LIRR routes and trains. Keep up the good work!!!!

The route is not as populated with scenery as I would like. I planned on much rudimentary scenery being done before sending out, three long sections (between Mineola and the Wantagh Parkway, and Between Holban and Floral Park, and Merrilon Ave area) look like the great plains. Should be good enough by Friday.

Incidentally an MP15 with weight behind is going by Fox2 right now.

LI7285, which texture is it? I have been thinking of trying one. Thanks!

420,
Im going to look tommrow on my other PC I have the textures already in the route. there the acleantrack.ace textures in the ..//..//lirr/textures/ folder

I am familiar with the texture you guys are talking about. I have it and can email it, or if you want to go ahead and get it for yourself, go to train-sim.com and download the Hoogdam line. The 'acleantrack.ace' file used by that author is the one with the weathered wood ties. Additionally, the route features several elevated track structures that might serve you well as the lead-in to Jamaica if you have not created that already.

the wood ties are also available is a small download of just ties. go to search and go search either "wood ties' or acleantrack" or something in regurds to track.

Don't be silly, Long Island locomotives are ALCO's and FM's. They are also painted grey and orange! :-)
