I'm posting this here for anyone who may want to join or meet up along the way.
I want to know if anyone would object to walking 1 mile from the LIRR Farmingdale station to the location of the abandonned South Farmingdale station on the Central branch. This spot is where we can get pix of the C3s on the central.
If you guys are up to it, then here is my planned itenerary for the trip:
10:01 train out of NYP(Arrive Farmingdale at 11:32)
-This train WILL DEFINATELY BE A DM CONSIST(that means C3s and 2DMs)
-This train will travel via Babylon line, then reverse up the central, then forwards towards Farmingdale/Ronkonkoma
-Photo op of bustitution at Fdale
Walk 1 mile to South Farmingdale(Arrive about 12:05-12:15)
-Photo op of C3s/DMs at about 12:15-12:20, and maybe another train
12:53 N71 to Sunrise Mall(Arrive Sunrise Mall 1:05)
-photo ops at mall of LIB, but no Suffolk Transit b/c it is a sunday
1:30 N55 to Massapequa(Arrive Massapequa 1:45)
-Photo ops of LIRR, including as many as 3 C3/DM consists
-Lunch Break
2:55 Adriondack Trailways to either Roosevelt Field Mall or Hempstead
(Arrive Roosevelt Field Mall at 3:25 or Hempstead(Transit Center) at 3:40)
-Photo ops at HTC and RFM
From RFM, we would have to walk to the LIB stop on the other side of the mall. Then we could take LIB to either HTC or Mineola and yall take LIRR from there back to NYP or wherever(I'll take the N23 back home)
From HTC, yall can either take LIRR to NYP, or LIB to Mineola, and LIRR from there.
-At Mineola, you can get photos of the bustitution
Cost of trip(LIRR/LIB/Trailways):
$6.75
$2.00
$3.75 or $4.70
$2.00(optional bus to Mineola from HTC, or mandatory bus from RFM to Mineola)
Total via Trailways to RFM: $15.45
Total via Trailways to HTC: $12.50 or $14.50 with LIB to Mineola
