Stewart Models recently released a Lackawanna F-3 painted in all gray with maroon lettering and NO yellow. They call it the Lackawanna "Grey Ghost".

My question: is this an accurate model? Any pictures out there of the real "Grey Ghost"?

I dont know how many there were, but there were at least 4, probably more:

The answer is yes on two counts...one is that if a unit was needed before it was finished in servicing it got out sans yellow and, two, there was an A-B set that came out with just the maroon stripe.

The Morning Sun DL&W book has an excellent picture of one of the Grey Ghosts, I believe sitting in the Hoboken engine terminal.

The "Gray Ghost" has been added to my growing roster of Lackawanna engines. Looks real nice!
