Roughly how big can CP make the trains using DPU technology before they need to add a second train each way?

CP has run some ~14K footers with DPU already over the Moosehead. A lot of RRs tend to stick to a max of about 16K

Great info thanks. Sounds like they have a little room to expand before they need to add more trains.

Adding more trains is crew dependent as well, they've already had to split some of the bigger trains that didn't fit in sidings so that another could make the meet.

It sounded like last nights train was being split in Jackman at the DPU. I’m assuming it wasn’t to make a pickup. Will it run as it’s own train from there or be added to the next shorter train to come along? Seems like running two trains instead of having to drop sections would be easier, but I guess you do what you can if you don’t have enough crews.

The crew handling 132 the other night, I think it was Saturday, dropped the whole train so they could take 223 out.

It is nice to see some big trains on the Moosehead. Last nights train was a big one, just short of 200 wells. Today's eastbound was pretty close to the same length. I look forward to seeing increased frequency at some point.
