The designated smoke stops are Jackson, Greenwood, Memphis,Carbondale and Champaign-Urbana. However, the train will not hold if it is delayed.

From Google Maps Earth, just north of Akers, LA. I think this is a satellite view of the northbound City of New Orleans.
