Hey, why not have Amtrak refuel them in SSY?

The price Amtrak would charge for said service would probably be so ridiculous that itd be cheaper to literally replace the entire empty fuel tank with a full one when they run dry.

It is kind of funny (and outrageous) that NJ Transit bought these expensive new dual modes with almost nowhere to use them, while the one notable single seat dual-mode operation it had was the ACES service using an old ALP-44 hooked up with a P40!

Has NJT thought about using these locomotives on west of Dover runs to NYP?

They were bought hand in hand with the ARC project. The locos were already being produced when ARC was cancelled, and the order to have the locos built couldnt be cancelled.

I'm sure they are aware of the potential, but present ridership numbers west of Dover don't warrant it. If NJT wanted to capitalize their service to NYP directly west of Dover, they'd need to improve express service to get ridership numbers to warrant it.

With the Cut-Off, I can see that having direct service, but that is still some time away.
