Just heard Amtrak Thorn tower give AMTK 513 form D Clearence to run west on 1 track from Caln interlocking to MP 58. Sounds like the GG1 is almost home. Just moments before the form D was issued I heard a Septa engineer/conductor say over the radio " that's a pretty site".

Here's a photo of the Acela that was on display this past weekend. I'm sure they purposely chose to face the trainset with power car 2018 at the south end. It looks pretty clean, and the nose shroud has the red stripe and Amtrak lettering. Power car 2004 at the other end looked pretty beat up!

I'm just glad they didn't display #2009, with its botched paint job! :-D

Wow, Mr. Johnson, does #2018 look how my auto does when I get it back from its annual 'day at the spa'.

Great shots!
I see the Acela Express trainsets close up around once a week (when board a MARC train on track 16), and that is the cleanest one I've ever seen. The nose is also the most scratched up one I've seen.

Amtrak finally sent down MARC 4902. Amtrak was doing a two-year overhaul and 4900-02 should have been returned to MARC since aug., but at least we finally have one of them.

Interesting, since originially 4903 was never sent to DE with the other three. MARC probably couldn't afford to have all 4 AEM-7's out of service so I guess they exchanged 4902 with 4903.

Nice photos!

It looks like the MARC car wasn't connected to a loco for HEP, which sucks since the interior looks much better with the lights on (duh). At least they displayed one with the new seats (note the logo in the headrests).

Your #14 photo shows a sleeper with a very small window . . . I know I've never had one like that, and don't think I've ever even seen one . . . what is it?

JPS
Vincent has provided us with a photo of bedroom H (accessible to mobility impaired passengers) on the lower level of a Superliner sleeper. The room spans the width of the car and has one small window on each side of the room. The seats/beds are on one side (pictured in his photo) and the bathroom facilities are on the other side of the room. The middle of the room provides ample space for maneuvering/parking a wheelchair or scooter.
