when did the Attleboro Junction tower open, and when did it close? early 90's? didn't New Haven RR own it before the MBTA was formed and Amtrak was created?

for those who don't know, the tower is located where the Middleboro Secondary branches off the NEC to go to Taunton, and Middleboro

I think the correct name of the tower at Attleboro (NH SS 165) was just Attleboro for many many years.
There was an Attleboro Junction located where the Lowell-Framingham-Mansfield-Taunton-New Bedford route and the Attleboro-Barrowsville-Taunton route connected. Not very far away was another tower, Whittenton Junction which controlled the junction of the combined two aforementioned routes with the Canton Jct-Stoughton-Raynham-Taunton route.
Early on in the New Haven's 1935-47 bankruptcy as a cost cutting measure and cognizant of the fact that there had been a big reduction in numbers of trains passing through these points, the NH made some track and signal changes in this area, closed Attleboro Junction and renamed the whole place Whittenton Junction.

thanks eddiebear, so what about the Attleboro tower in Attleboro? do you know when that was closed? Didn't it close because all of the dispatching went to Boston?
