Good points Nomis, which begs the question:

Warminster nothbounds are scheduled to arrive at XX:55 and depart at ::41, which is 46 minutes of layover on a normal run. That being the case, the prudent thing for the dispatcher to do would to hold late Northbound trains at Ardsley until the southbound passes. That didn't seem to happen. This applies to weekends only. During the week, there do not seem to be many meets scheduled at Grove.

In the weekend schedule, the Airport trains alternate between going to Warminster and West Trenton. A train that comes into the Airport from Warminster then goes to West Trenton. There's a 7-hour cycle. The train that was due in at West Trenton at 10:39 am on Tuesday (but didn't get in until close to 11:00) was a 4-car Silverliner 4 set led by 109-110, followed by 397-396. The train due in at West Trenton at 5:39 pm (and observed running more than 10 minutes late at Philmont, probably due to carrying the load usually carried by a push-pull with 7 passenger cars plus at least two other trains) had the same four cars.

Out of curiosity, when the snow schedule goes into effect, why does Cynwyd get the axe? It's a city-only route that requires minimal manpower and equipment, and would probably make a good substitute for the 65 bus that goes sledding down City Line Avenue.

BNT:

The Cynwyd Line a City route? Not quite...Bala and Cynwyd stations are located in Lower Merion Township which
happens to be in Montgomery County...

Those two stations - because of their location - do not qualify for the off peak discount of being able to use a Zone
One pass to stations that are within the boundaries of the City of Philadelphia have on weekdays - Zone Two
passes are always required here...Bala Station happens to be located on the Montgomery County side of City Line
Avenue and Cynwyd is just less then a mile up line - trivial but noteworthy in this case...

Closing down what really is SEPTA's "Dinky" in the snow plan should affect only a small amount of riders
and alternate bus service is available on City Line Avenue - and having Overbrook Station not far away helps
matters here...

Everyone:

The name of this topic should be changed to allow service adjustments affecting all SEPTA rail services to be
posted here in one place - and remembering that what the forecasters thought was going to be Super Storm
Juno really was not - at least where the Philadelphia region was concerned...
