Condition of old NYW&B Bridges Dyre Ave Line?

Post by fordhamroad »

-the original steel bridges for the New York, Westchester & Boston (now the Dyre Ave Line) have passed the century mark. Are they still in good condition, or does additional work of restoration and replacement have to be done to the bridges?

No, they built that line for the ages. Those bridges will be good for a century or two, at least.

Ready to serve another hundred years! They get periodic routine inspections and maintenance, just like any other railroad/transit structure.
