Construction Method

Post by L'mont »

I'm curious.....

The "A" south of 179th st. is clearly a cut-and-cover job. How did they make the move from 168th and B'way to Ft. Washington Ave and 175th? There are more examples of this, but here the line seems to cut diagonally across a couple of blocks, or at least cuts partially across the block. How did they do this? Are all of the buildings really post-subway construction? I can't imagine that.

Thanks.
