Since this station will be the terminal for the Commuter Rail, it will handle a lot more passengers than the station normally would, as it has to handle loads near what North Station would
Not quite... it will be the terminal for the Reading/Haverhill line, not the entire commuter rail system. No doubt it will be busy, but nothing near as busy as North Station is. The good part about this particular line is there has been a sort of "dress rehearsal" going on for the past month and a half, as off-peak trains have been bused from Oak Grove due to a tie replacement project. Everybody's been-there-done-that, and will know precisely what to do at DNC time.

John I know it's only for the Haverhill line trains, meant it that way in my post but didn't see the "line" was missing in "commuter rail line" in the post. Impossible to get the other lines there n the first place(well, maybe the Lowell line trains too might be able to go there via the wildcat but that's doubtful).

For a soutbound Lowell Line train to reach Oak Grove via the Wildcat, it would have to change ends twice.

Makes sense, otherwise the T would have sent them to Oak Grove in the first place.

Question for those who might know: was there a connection to allow that scenario to happen in the past? Lowell trains via the Haverhill line? Or was it only meant for Haverill trains via the Lowell line from the start?
