Why not change it to GMU - Kennedy Center? What is the purpose of the "Foggy Bottom" name?

Smithsonian really should be changed to National Mall because there are Smithsonian Museums all over the city. A lot of WMATA's station names really are idiotic in my opinion. Not just these two.

Foggy Bottom is the neighborhood name. It's actually pretty well known because it's the location of the State Deparment HQ and is used as shorthand for that. Leaving it off is just plain inaccurate, too, as the Kennedy Center is not that close, and GWU is not all that's there.
