NS 8104 - LV Heritage Unit - White lined?

Post by NJT4272 » Tue May 15, 2018 8:38 am

Moments ago, NS 8104 - The Lehigh Valley heritage unit rolled through the Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, PA with a white line painted through the 'Lehigh Valley' lettering on her flank. Whitelining usually means the end of the line for a locomotive. What's the word? Does anyone know?

Isn't it the road number that needs to be whitelined to show a unit out of service?

More likely a vandal or error by someone at NS.
