Can anyone tell me if D&H C420 408 was ever renumbured to 418?
or did she always stay 408?
any photos showing her as 418? (if she was 418 of course..)
thanks,
Scot

According to the D&H Historical Society's web site, there was never a C420 #418.

thanks,
that what I always thought too..
but..Guilford had a U18B #408!
but there couldnt have been 2 408's at the same time..
The C420 #408 remained with Guilford/D&H until all the C420's were sold in 1988..
so C420 408 must have been a Guilford engine..
Perhaps C420 408 and U18B 408 were not on the roster at the same time?
that must be it..

Why couldn't they have shared the same number? The C420 had "DH" reporting marks, the U18B had "MEC" reporting marks. So they had the same number but different reporting marks -- no conflict.
