Thanks for the diagrams. I'm not actually sure what you mean by a "crossing activity" or a "cancelled crossing activity".

In South Africa we talk of a crossing when two trains travelling in opposite directions on a singe track meet at a loop where they can pass (or cross) each other. There are rules as to how they cross, and there are trackside fixed signals or hand signals involved, but the trains themselves do not carry any indicators about the crossing.
