The Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society, in cooperation with the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad, announces train rides with Santa Claus on Saturday, December 10, and Sunday, December 11, 2011.

Each trip will be a round-trip excursion lasting approximately one-hour. During each trip, Santa Claus will be walking through the entire train visiting every child on board. Santa’s helpers will also be there distributing a special gift from Santa to each child. Make sure to bring your camera to get photos with Santa!

Trains will depart from East Stroudsburg and Delaware Water Gap, PA on Sat. Dec. 10, and from Cresco and Tobyhanna, PA on Sun. Dec. 11.

Coach seating is available in the Society’s two climate-controlled Dieseliner cars. Tickets are $13 for adults and $7 for children under 10.

First Class seating is available in the bedrooms of the Society’s vintage Pullman car, City of Lima. Each of City of Lima’s 6 bedrooms can accommodate 2 people, and adjoining rooms can be combined to seat a party of 4. Solo riders wishing a private bedroom must pay for both seats in the room. First class tickets are $25 each.

Special Railfan all-day seating is available in City of Lima’s roomettes for the 9:30 AM East Stroudsburg departure on Saturday, and the 9:30 AM Cresco departure on Sunday. Roomette passengers will be allowed to ride all excursions on the ticketed day. Each roomette can seat one person, and all-day tickets are $50 each. Only 6 tickets will be available for each day.

Tickets can be ordered online at http://www.eldcps.org/store/2011SantaTrains.html

All proceeds go towards the restoration of our 3 Erie Lackawanna Dining Cars.

We had a terrific time with the Santa Trains! About 1200 passengers rode the trains that ran out of Delaware Water Gap, East Stroudsburg, Cresco and Tobyhanna.
