A fantastic day in Milford today; the Milford Alive! celebration saw thousands in attendance, and the BDRR caboose hops were sold out a couple of hours ahead of the last run. Thanks to the Belvidere & Delaware River Railway & staff, and especially Donko142, flanges were squealing all day long on the old PRR main. Reaction from the townsfolk & visitors was overwhelmingly positive; many had a story about the railroad 'back in the day'. Thanks for the cab ride, Don, and congratulations again for successfully bringing a train back to Milford after all these years..........

I belive that, some dreams, such no matter how long, *In this case 12years* are not meant to come true sadly. All these years later. Welp, after not being able to ride yesterday, i came at 12:30 and waited over a hour, (I just got back from the station)
All tickets were sold out, and their was no hope for me or anyone else in the standbye lines, many of us just left. eventually i did to (I couldtn stay longer my scolioises was flareing from standing so long) and thats were i am now home, I know alot of people were just young kids that wanted to see the train, i understand.. I am just, bummed out that i wont be able to ride 146. Oh well.

*disappointed yet, alright.*

Do not give up on your dream, MrB; this railroad event was wildly popular, hence a complete and total sellout over two days. I would find it hard to believe that this will the one and only train to ever visit Milford again.

All,
One thing to remember about this event, Tickets were not SOLD, they were given out. Tickets were the best way to cover the limited number of "Seats" per trip.
Because of the generosity of Donko, his friends and the NYSWTHS, this was a free event for those attending.
We did accept Donations that will be put towards extending the line North.
Will this be the last time a rain comes to Milford, I surely hope not!
Also during the event, Donko had offered a cab ride and a T-shirt to anyone who donated $250 to the Millie Buy-a-tie Program. That money will be used for the track work down there. This made a Special day even more special for those who rode the cab!

Then I'm confused - how were seats "given out"? How did one have to reserve them beforehand? I would have loved to ride but didn't know about getting tickets beforehand - and pretty much anyone who tried to go standby was out of luck. Just goes to show how popular the train rides were.

Big Jim,
Tickets were given out on a first come, first served basis. The waiting/stand by list was if someone didn't show. As you said, it was wildly popular!!!!! First they got to ride a train out of Milford, second, it was a Caboose to boot!!!!
There was a line from hour one! The only "lull" in the rides was during the bed race!

I think with the unbelievable amount of support for rail in Milford (that was clear from the past event) you will be happy with the future ahead for the town and rail

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I was out visiting family and took a ride along the tracks on the way home. It looked like track work was being done south of reigalsville, a little south of cpg? Also saw 1596 on the north end of the train and 1202 on the south end, do you have 3 diesels on the line now or did 1567 leave? Thanks

The 1567 is down for a repair. Serviceable blue carded locomotives on the property right now are 1596, 1202 and the 146. 142 is down for winter repairs

Good weather and a great crew makes for good progress on the railroad; Saturdays tree/brush cutting party cleared 15-20 trees from the row, and even retrieved a new tie that had fallen down a 20 foot embankment right alongside the Delaware River (thanks, Dylan). Things are advancing nicely on the southern end of the line, and my, how much nicer the transportation is these days (thanks, Don)!

It's never too late to volunteer, and yes, the hack has heat!
