It was a smooth, well maintained road with no traffic and perfect for bicycling. Usually within 10 or 15 minutes we'd be caught, admonished and escorted off to the nearest exit by the patrolling MP's, though. lol

(1) trespass arrest in all likelihood, and (2) yes, the line is still active.

They run quite frequently, but only when a ship is in the pier, or for some normal spotting in waterfront every once in a blue moon. Don't worry this line isn't going anywhere for a long time.

I've recently seen some MOW activity taking place adjacent to the parkway overpass. One day there was a hi-rail truck and the next there was quite a bit of track equipment at work next to the West Front Street grade crossing.

There's been track machinery parked on the in service track between Nut Swamp and Oak Hill Road crossings the past few evenings.

Yup,saw them yesterday at Oak Hill Road and on Monday and Saturday I saw them sitting on the O.O.S track by Nut Swamp Rd.

Saw the train today around 4 pm or so. Was on the North bound GSP, went over the overpass and saw the train's lights and about 2 or 3 police vehicles (red and blue light bars). Sorry I didn't have much more info but figured someone might want to know.

Funny you should mention the movement today....I caught them at Kings Hwy East in Middletown on my way home (just before you saw them), first in line at the traffic light. Great, I thought, so I grabbed my camera for a stealth shot, but the MP pulled up to the crossing, stopped and looked me right in the eyes (as if he knew I was a railfan)!
I just plain didn't have the balls to point and shoot, so off they went. For the record, SW1200s 65-00630 and 65-00631 (if I remember correctly).........
