Hello All:

Would like this topic to be refreshed every so often. Is the current NY&A roster as follows?

SW 1001: 101, 105, 106 (returned to LIRR? Date XX/2016?)
MP15AC: 151, 155, 156, 159 (156 owned by NYA)
GP38-2: 261, 268, 270, 271
PR-20B: 300, 301

Leasers:
GP38-2: CIT/CEFX 402, GMTX 2200
Total: 12 locomotives

Comments welcomed!
Regards, AlKaLI

Dogbert:

Thanks for the reply. I don't get a chance to visit Maspeth and Fresh Pond as much as I used to where you could usually see the SW1001s.
So is the 106 still on the NY&A? Just curious if it is and apparently 101/105 were called on the recent Atlantic Terminal derailment from the LIRR forum.

That would leave the roster at 13 locomotives.

106 is still on NY&A, so far as I know, though I saw LIRR used it with 100 for the atlantic terminal mess. The 1001s are the only diesels they have that will fit the Atlantic ave tunnels.

I'm not 100% sure where it is usually being used. It was on the bushwick/LIC/bayridge runs but I haven't seen it on the bush/lic trains I've come across in recent weeks.

155 is still at Altoona. The geeps are not getting rebuilt.

How come NYAR opted for the purchase and overhaul of the E-15's as opposed ti the E-20's?
