This is 3000' of 4/O grooved trolley wire that these guys cut up and carried away. I don't know what our prospects are for restitution, but needless to say this is a setback to our electrification plans.

HDR has been chosen as the firm to do the engineering, design and oversight portions of the track rehab project. This is the same firm that did the engineering study a few years ago. There will be another bid process later in the year to bring in the construction firm for the project. We've learned ...

A Request for Proposals for engineering services has been posted relating to the previously mentioned FRA and State funded track project in Kingston, NY. A copy of the RFP document is here: http://www.tmny.org/TMNY_RFP_railconsulting.pdf

I was in Memphis for two days last week, my first visit. Since the Memphis trolley system doesn't appear to have been mentioned in this forum yet, here are a few snap shots of the system. There are three lines, but the Madison Avenue line was closed for repairs, leaving the Main Street and Riverfron...

You strike at the heart of the primary activities that most every non-profit board, their staff and volunteers pursue. We've done all those things in the past and will in the future. We have one business owner on the Board, and he has donated materials and company labor for some small projects aroun...

Yes. Part of the reason things are happening in the sequence they are happening is due to what the grant programs dictate. It so happens the grants we've been awarded only go to fixing or improving existing structures (building, causeway, track, etc). Since Kingston tore down its overhead in 1928, t...

Yes Johnstown #358 is the only car running now. Options for increasing passenger capacity are being discussed.

Noel, Let me put it this way: We are meeting all local match requirements for the allocated funding. In most cases, the local match requirement for one grant is met by securing other qualifying grants. If we added up all the grants either TMNY itself or Kingston on our behalf applied for over the pa...
