I guess it'll be hard to miss ya! :-) Okay thanks. I missed the show the last few years as I travel a lot. Hoping to pick up some CNJ memorabilia this time around. I really should rejoin the JCRHS (I belonged back in the late 80's) but it's not always easy to get to the meetings. Anyway see you there.

Thank you Pumpers! I live VERY close to the LV line in North Edison, so that's my usual haunt. Maybe I'll give it a shot this summer. June being the longest days, I might get lucky.
Can't lose either way. Lately the traffic on the LV through my area has been extremely brisk.
Many thanks

Where is the best (safest, most public, least intrusive…) location to photograph the train coming or going? Is there a good trainspotting place along the route in NJ? Does it go up the LV line or does it come up the chemical coast?

Kilroy, I'm planning to drop in late Sunday morning for a bit. I'll say a quick hello if I can find you, how do I recognize you?

Yes, on that track that runs between the PATH line and the M&Essex line. It is easy to see at the moment, now that the buildings next to it have been torn down. I think I know where you mean.... where the Hartz buildings used to be I believe... all torn down now. I think it's a single track nea...

Rudy, is there a schedule of any upcoming excursions? I didn't realize the Maine equipment was coming back.... Also, I really need to get myself up that way and railfan your line a bit. Central NJ is great, but I need to see some M&E. Will look on the company site and see what's accessible to ph...

Been hoping to see the CNJ unit, no luck here either. The LV unit was stunning. SO beautiful. Might have to go on a CNJ hunt! :-)

BD-the original story link is behind a member or pay wall. This topic needs a new title as I noted above. Oh! Sorry about that. I don't subscribe and was able to click and open the link with no problem - perhaps after 24 hours it goes into a pay-per-archive or something. THank you for the "fix...

The LIRR weekend Cannonball Express out to Montauk in the summer is always a sellout as well. It saves "some" time, not a huge amount, but several of my colleagues reserved their seats and use it to get out the East End on Fridays after work. Of course, that's running on existing, working ...

Metropark is great! Lots of trains to/from NYC and many of them run express/semi-express. Large park=it-yourself garage and VERY economical parking. I think it's $9 for overnight, $5 for the day. Really a bargain and a nice train ride in.

Today a little before noon my son and I were riding NJT 3839 out of NYC. As we approached the PATH yard East of Newark Station we were passed by a NS GP (I'm assuming it was a GP38 but couldn't get a great look) pulling three private varnish and what looked like an old green PC boxcar. Guessing they...
