Some regional trains and Metroliners in the 1980s/90s had three classes: coach, business (custom) and first (club class).

66/67 when known as Twilight Shoreliner/Federal had three classes, with first class being Viewliner sleepers.

The oldest of the modern era tokens in use to 2006 were actually introduced by the predecessor MTA in 1951, see August 2005 ERA Bulletin, p. 15-16. Several commemorative tokens are also mentioned, these include Sail 1992 and the Southwest Corridor.

See also NJT, which might find itself cheaper to rebuild the grandfathered (pre-EPA) GP40s as far back as 1965 over all new diesels.

Back in the day there were lunch counters in many stations. Most notably was the counter on the shuttle at Grand Central Terminal, as seen in The French Connection.

A saga that began in 2005 finally is complete. That year the appropriations and bonds for the purchase of the new cars was considered and approved by the General Assembly with an estimated cost (CT share only, 65/35 split with NY) of $675 million (2005 value), with additional fare increases between ...

"of interest is that on the Continent, there is a revival of Sleeping Cars" There is indeed a revival of sleepers over there. Five years ago there were perhaps 10 sleeper trains on the entire continent, now there are probably 50+. Before the Berlin Wall fell, there were probably 500. One ...

It is not as if passengers needed to be rousted at 0-dark-30 as they would if the 1-21 or 7-27.and v.v. cars were eliminated. It also forces the Boston Mechanical Department to inventory parts to work on a bad ordered Viewliner and the outside contractor commissary to supply linens and possibly men...
