The 6 buyers in the running was as of 8/12. It could have easily been furthur narrowed down by now. Just wasn't sure it was just a rumor at the time.

The investment companies have not been name dropped, at least anywhere that I've been poking around.

The sale has been narrowed down to 6 candidates. 3 are Railroads (rumored to be NS, CN, and Watco) and the other 3 are investment companies.

Please pardon if this is the wrong place for this question but I'm trying to find out where the serial number was located on s1-5 switchers. Trying to find the origins of a zombified switcher. I have what I believe is the batch number stamped on the frame also which is 37S1207.

There are rumors Watco is aiming to take Riley's soon. Supposedly they recently hired more crew for it.

Union's are a mixed bag, they fight against to protect the workers who get the job done but also protect the lazy ones who try to pull a fast one on the company. To deny the latter doesn't exist either would be putting on the blinders big time. End of the day, ND made the decision and Pan Am has en...

WATCO crews will get paid significantly cheaper (non-union potentially) wages Truly spoken like management. Those jobs belong to the men who have been servicing that mill for many years now. It is an absolute disservice to the employees if Pan Am really didn't bid. Internally I've heard they did bu...

From what I understand, the mills are looking for bids. Pan Am will be putting in bids, but it's very possible they won't win...Nothing changing till July 1 at the earliest. It looks.like Pan Am may have lost the bid. https://career4.successfactors.com/career?company=zWatco&career%5fns=job%5fli...

Just guessing that mebbe maintaining qualifications for crews may be part of the motivation for PAR crews on 426/7... It's more about timing than anything else. If the trains don't get their meet at Ayer done at the right time, the CSX cans. Usually if that happens it falls on Pan Am to get the tra...

This was the extra pig cars I was talking about, I know for a fact these were unloaded and added to 23k to go west as empty empties. Last I saw Eimskips are still in circulation.

AFAIK it's just NJ water ending, nothing should change with the water they've been shipping from the start.

The water being shipped to New Jersey (previously being discussed in this thread) has come to an end. Supposedly not Pan Am's fault either. Over this weekend pigs will be unloaded and added to 23k to go west.

They come in from both the D&H (Saratoga) and from one of the interchanges in Maine when I worked there. They were quite common though Old Town and Lincoln got the majority. Oddly this placard class does not require burying, you can put them on the headpin. Sodium Chlorate. All of the mills use...
