This is causing the Rockville canopy replacement project to get delayed: https://www.wmata.com/about/news/rockville-canopy-delays.cfm Now Shady Grove & Rockville wont open until January 2022 Yes, and thats been interfering with the Shady Grove railyard so a lot of the OOS 7Ks have been forced t...
Wow, thats interesting how they "ferry" over a freight train into and out of Newfoundland. Ill have to find videos of those type of moves on Youtube
Yes they do, 01400/01401 are the ones still out of service
I understand now that 60-65 cars are on MBTA property, and that 48 of them are in service
I understand that 01816/01817 went down to Otis Joint base for special training. Also, 01844/01845n have been out of service since 2011? I think
Looking forward to it! I would love to ride on these traincars, last thing from 1963 left since uphere in Boston, we retired our 01400-series Red Line trains too soon in 1994, so Ill try to catch a run!
I sure hope so as far as December is concerned for the 01900s to return to service. Id sure would love to ride them and take my video of them. 01816/01817 by the way went down to Otis Joint base for special use
They would also have to doubletrack the CSX Boston Sub mostly in its entirety to have more passenger service in addition top CSX Freight service
Youre right, Ian (Head-End). The large RFW's of them will be missed as well as the cab access door RFWs of the older trains.
But Im also looking forward to the new 01900s although they will have a cab access door RFW like MNR's M8s but with the shades down mostly
Yes, it would be! I like when New York City Subway would run its R1-R9 trains. Upohere in Boston, they DID run historical equipment on the Red Line including the Osgood-Bradley 0700s until they were replaced by the former Orange Line 01100s in 1983. Both kinds of car classes were used as the Red Lin...
Im looking forward to riding the Boston segment of the Lake Shore Limited to the fullest all the way to CHI without switching trains at Albany, but having the Boston segment is a blessing so that I dont have to take a NER to NYP and change there.
Oh I know that but if the MBTA has a different tone and decides to rebuild them for historical purposes you know I’m staying positive about it that they will be preserved
Uh, I hope a museum will take them maybe Connecticut trolley museum or Edaville
OK good to know. I hope the MBTA preserves them as they are a part of history. I know Seashore has those other two but I personally would like to see them stay around for a long time
