Maybe I don't understand what a full high level platform is; Dover has a high level platform without a passing track, as does Durham, so why couldn't Kennebunk build one similar to Dover?

As a train host I sometimes am asked about taking trains out of South Station in Boston, and Red Cap Service. My question - so i can be informative and accurate if asked - is, what is a typical tip for a Red Cap (per bag) (and I will say 'in Boston" , unless it does not make any difference. The...

Yup, thanks for the help with the discount - I got it to work also. Hard to believe, but it seems that you have to fill in the blocks in order, then it works fine. I am not sure what I messed up before, but now I'm all set and I will pass the word on.
Thanks,

A friend of mine took the Downeaster to Boston the other day - 682 out of Wells - but did not/could not avail himself of the 50% discount for seniors, he only was able to get about $3 off the tix price for a discount. I tried to see how the senior discount (which applies to 682) works and i could no...

Per the NNEPRA website, NNEPRA has signed a contract to initiate construction of the Brunswick Layover Facility. In addition, the opponents of the facility have submitted an appeal to the DEP on issuing the storm water permit for the site.

While picking up a coffee in downtown Dover NH, I noticed new ties laying next to the tracks in anticipation of being installed. Can't tell how long that they have been there.

Keep in mind that southern maine and new hampshire are vacation places in the summertime (may -early oct); this is especially important if you gets a rental on Rt 1 itself, daytime traffic can be heavy ( for this region) at times. might take a day or two to get out of your driveway. In terms of cost...

The maintenance facility hearings were held yesterday, for the whole day apparently. Now that the public has had a chance to weigh in - what should remain is the Maine DEP should issue the stormwater permit ( in June) and the construction should begin. Control of stormwater in accordance with specif...

The NNEPRA director from Brunswick ME - Mr. McEvoy, has tendered his resignation as he apparently is moving out of the area. His appointment by the Governor was somewhat unusual as he was (and seemed to remain ) an outspoken critic of the Brunswick service/maintenance facility plan.

OK, so where does the expansion of the transload facility now stand: is this the decision that allows SEA-3 to proceed? Is there another meeting or court review/decision waiting in the wings?

I have lost track of the Sea-3 expansion status; what is next - are all the meetings done, and folks are just waiting for the next/final approval from the Feds?
