Had a great day with everyone who came out today - it was a heck of a hot day, but still worth it. Our day began at the Atco train station on the Atlantic City Line where we first waited for the 1.5 hour late northbound 4662. Heavy storms across the region the night before resulted in signal problem...

Not that I am aware of - I received 6 or 7 emails from the group today.

I will certainly be in attendance - there may be other side trips on this excursion as time allows also - we will probably follow some other line north back to Woodbury...this TBD.

The signals on the Clementon Branch were taken out of service I believe in November 1983. I am 90% sure the ones south of Winslow on the Cape May Branch were pulled at the same time.

For a long time I was under the impression that the proposed nothern terminus for CMSL was Woodbine Jct and that one day it was going to be extended toTuckahoe Junction with a southern terminus of Cape May. What happened to that plan? The plan has always been to create a continuous route of service...

One great thing that would help the CMSL is a northern terminus - a destination. Right now the CMSL lacks a stable one of these along their in service route on the Cape May Branch. Rio Grande is about the closest they can come to a terminal right now...

Mike, thanks for the info. Refresh my fleeting memory, however. Station Ave is where? (I should know this, but it's early in the morning, and I can't think straight yet!) Or, to put it very simply, when did a train last cross Clements Bridge Road? Station Ave is in Glendora, south of Clements Bridg...

When was the Grenloch line last in use? I'm referring to the section east of the turnpike, where much of it is now a bike path. I'm specifically interested in the Evesham Ave and Clements Bridge Road areas. Also, if any photos exist of this area, I'd love to see them! What is left of the terminus, ...

===Reposted here from SJRA for the sake of distribution of information=== The RDC in question is PRSL M406. The condition you see it in was the results of it being set on fire in Atlantic City by vandals. What you cannot see in the photo is the condition of the opposite side of the car, northbound l...

Just how much freight traffic was there on the lines? Was it mostly passenger traffic to the shore fronts or were there was a large amount freight that terminated at the lines? At one time, there was significant freight traffic. As mentioned above, the points that bordered the Delaware River as wel...

In addition to the removal of the lead which was as a result of the FedEx building, all other rail has also been removed from the former Owens property. Some of the former sidings have now been paved over and are used by motor vehicles within the property.

I don't know how many of you have physically been to West Wildwood in the past few years, at the site of the Grassy Sound Bridge, but those who have will recall that the property on the island side right up to the bridge is owned by a private homeowner. You can't move 1 foot off the span, if there w...
