Yesterday, was in a 6-car (3 pair) consist, with 8729 in the rear. Being able to watch the scenery go by from the window at the end door gave me a feeling of nostalgia that numbed the pain of slamming the door between paired cars into my foot. XD I forgot how heavy those doors are (on top of being u...

Some people had a smellier than expected ride home?
Honestly, I thought the M6s were worse, oddly, than the M2s or M4s... especially when it came to the bathroom, and smell leakage. :P

Today, I saw one of the remaining M2 consists while heading S/B on I95, and happened to notice that it is now down to 6 cars (3 pairs) The other day, I saw both consists heading home from Manhattan, one was 8 cars (4 pairs), the other, well, was hard to tell if it was also 8 cars, or had been reduce...

What is being built on the Stamford bound side, just past the taxi stands, by Texas Chili? I've been observing the construction for a couple of weeks now while I watch trains, and I'm a wee bit puzzled as to what it is they are building.

Saw this posted up at Mamaroneck yesterday. That'll be interesting to see, the Hudson Line's reduction to 1 track between the points mentioned.

In October 2009 I rode a Stamford-New Canaan shuttle that was comprised of a single M6 triplet (9016-9067-9017).

Pardon the double post, I realized that the upper/lower level track diagrams on the Wikipedia article for Grand Central terminal have measurements - it looks like ... platform width, then platform length? Not 110% sure... problem is, a lot of them seem hard to make out (not due to the scale of the i...

Checked out the book on Amazon, seems to be getting sorta expensive, but probably worth it if I can't find the details I need anywhere else.

Perhaps this would be better asked in the New York Central oriented subforums, I dunno... I started a project to remake Grand Central Terminal in Trainz (including building custom models/splines, etc, instead of relying on prefabricated stuff), and had a few questions regarding the terminal track-si...

1.) Yes. No tripods and stay out of the way. If you're paranoid, buy a 1 stop ticket (It's about $3) and keep it on you. If you get a rent-a-cop who wants to give you grief about not being a ticketed passenger...you have a ticket. (Said rent-a-cops are prevalent on the New Haven line. West Haven is...

Would anyone be able to tell me which New Haven Line trains (####) run with 12 car consists? I've personally seen a few 12 car M2 sets, but no 12 car M8 sets yet. Thanks in advance. I've, occasionally, seen at least 1 12-car M8 consist, never when I had my camera out though (dammit :( ) - and I am ...

Sorta glad this never got past the design phase then, seems like the layout could have been thought out a wee bit better IMO.

I assume that is not meant to be to scale, right? Looks like those booths would be TINY if they were to scale. :P

1530 was running with the old stuff on Friday afternoon. I was in a rush and didn't actually note if it was triplets or not. Did get a reminder of how nasty the toilets are on that equipment though. First time in months I've been on a non-M8 electric. Heh, a number of Fridays ago I went down into M...
