Early this morning an FL9, several boxcars and a tanker passed Mount Vernon West station. I am interested in knowing more about this train.

I am overtime's brother
I spotted the locomotive heading east just east of Amsterdam, N.Y. Saturday morning
the loco consist contained a couple of CSX locomotives then the MetroNorth Loco then the frieght cars
the locomotive was freshly painted

I went back to Oneida today and was able to get this picture of the derailment site. As you can see they are still burning the contents of the tank cars

I live in Utica. I took a ride over to the derailment tonight to take pictures. All roads are closed close to the tracks. I could not get close enough to see anything. I might try again this weekend

The tank cars where empty but reports state they had carried Ethanol which is the same as grain alcohol. Ethanol is flammable and there where concerns that any residual ethanol in the tanks could be ignited. I was unable to get to the scene until 48 hours later. I did not see any engines. If I gotte...

Hi I was able to go to the site of the derailment and get some pictures here is a picture I took on Thursday 6/1/06 approximately 48 hours after the derailment.
