Yes that's an air plant, from the looks of it temporary - diesel generator powered electric compressor. I am sure they will get electrical service in there and build a shanty with a true air plant at some point. Keeping air in the cars means the departing crews do not need to perform a Class I (Init...

I've highlighted the tracks in yellow. I wonder how accurate their map is. Seems like a haphazard collection of properties.

I know Massachusetts thinks everyone can just put solar panels on their roofs and call it a day, but what about all the tank farms? All the other other industry that would be displaced? I find this hard to believe it would ever go through. QC and Shnitzer don't appear to be in the red shaded area in...

No schedule up there.

I had to look up what the Peddler's Daughter is/was. Yes that's the branch in question here.

You get 8% on my lodging and food. You tax us tourists already.
Not enough.

You know I was wondering why they were still creeping through downtown Bangor and then I realized there were Yard Limits there. If this is not the case any longer perhaps it was just due to being the first job through? Glad to hear CSX is unwinding some of the operational sillyness, there are a lot ...

Yes to what John says I would expect headroom needed because their train is likely to fill out quickly to the 9,000 ft max singles or doubles. Single stacks it will be easy and when they finally double stack them they will likely tack the racks on to fill it out. From my recollection there is not a ...

Nor is every customer "worth it" but I'm going to do some digging on this one. Disgruntled ex employees aren't the best source of info sometimes. Reopening Keag to not pay CP to move 40 cars a day is absolutely one reason, but the ROI on that will be a decade on what they are dropping. The...

Do you know if they are restricted to 25 mph for a temporary break-in period? Heavy 136 lb CWR is 60 mph on other CSX routes. Got the above post just after I posted. So they aren't finished yet. Thanks. Afaik they did not do enough surface work to really get it to Class 3 and there isn't really eno...

Stb filings said csx was going to run class 2 speeds -25mph-generally on PAR, except in passenger territory. And there are some spots of old jointed rail left, such as just south of the yard at keag It's other than main track east of Winn to the connection with the NBSR so what little jointed rail ...

Gotta fix the rest of the track first NMJ to WVille and any 10s south of WVille.

Yep, they were watching the forward facing camera in Billerica today for this historical event. 25 MPH NMJ to Winn (Keag)

Since the 1 track is 25 and the 2 is mainly used for switching Sanvel it's doubtful much of any trackwork will be done. Especially since this is PAS and not CSX.

I don't think they will. Something is up with that one due to it being the interface between CSX and B&E and the furthest East high loads are allowed.
