Pretty sure the agreement was for 2 train pairs across PAS before they would need to come up with another agreement so they can get another pair through there.

I don't think they would be clearing south of Military Road (Route 2) south of Winn. That's way down by MP 4 in DCS, seems pretty far south.

Keep it mind these moves may involve Amtrak but they don't get a cut of the waybill. So they would either be dealing with a one originating and one terminating railroad or a single if the P&W does the whole thing.

I think the reality of the situation is, a trail is a much better use of a corridor if there is 0% chance of service being re-established than sitting there to mother nature. Here in the Upper Valley of NH, the Northern rail trail gets an incredible amount of use and the towns it connects are pretty...

Not an answer anyone here has but likely when it makes more financial sense for them to do that than reduce tonnage.

I was referring to the bystander not sharing their evidence.

As for the defoliants, that is not done by water sources. If you look trackside there are markers where the weed sprayer must stop nearing water.

Looks like either 426 or 427 ripped up the Worcester main pretty good down south of Barbers based on the picture I was sent.

Fully acknowledge other railroads scavenge, why not if the equipment is still good? However I was the one there seeing the stuff they were reinstalling, and the steel was not worth it's weight in scrap.

I guess They need a few more trains of the 136lb good stuff What it comes down to is every inch of the railroad needs new rail, and the mainline will likely reach this goal by the end of the 5 year initial investment. It's going to take a while to reverse decades of "undercapitalization" ...

When I worked there they continually scavenged the old eastbound tracks between South Deerfield and Greenfield, Gardner and East Gardner, and the old westbound between Buckland and Rices. That's on top of scavenging switches wherever they could find them, like the old Holyoke yard, etc. Too cheap to...

Rail train is waybilled for Portland not sure if it will be dropped in Rigby or elsewhere. Seems overkill for the yard.

Yes, DeCoster is now Hillandale. You see those factory eggs in grocery stores around here.
