Re: All things Harrisburg (Keystone) Line

I have a question regarding the Paoli Line. As previous posters have mention and noticed, the four track main line has been cut down to 2 at Paoli. Meanwhile SEPTA has expanded operations at Frazer yards in anticipation for all the 45 new Bi-level coaches that will come in with an additional 7 loco...

Leaving NYP you have "A" at the mouth of the tunnels. Next is CP MID which is a control point for eastward moves only in the tunnels. Once you're out of the tunnels it's all interlockings except for CP Clarke which is just west of Princeton Junction. Here's your list from NYP (MP 0) westwa...

Yup! If you are who I think you are, you should've gone ahead of your classmates in NYP. However, if people don't protest it on the first new roster, they're screwed. I had a student who claimed he had his license at CSXT. He's behind a couple of people in his class that were Amtrak or off the stree...

Regarding establishing seniority: If you already have a Class I certification, your seniority date on the National Roster is the date that you report for your physical. Otherwise, your seniority date is THE LAST DAY OF CLASS. Many people have gotten screwed over the past year or two because Labor Re...

It's my understanding that the one year requirement is no more.

Flying drones ahead of trains. Lmao, this is the most absurd idea I've read yet. It would cost too much and as 8thNotch stated at the beginning of this discussion, what if something happens between the drone and the train? The costs would be enormous. Who would monitor the surveillance screens? Ther...

CSXT is one of the biggest hurdles preventing ever restoring service between SPG & BOS (aka Inland route). CSXT doesn't want any Amtrak trains on their property due to insurance and liability issues. Given this past weekends accident, that will probably support their argument of keeping passenge...

A few questions:

1) Are the units already equipped with ditch lights?
2) Will they be modified with ACSES & Cab Signals in order to lead trains on the south side?

That's right, the environmental crusaders of Boston [and note, Harvard], have banished freight rail and are now 100% dedicated to congesting and polluting trucks. There's commitment! Seeing your username reminded me of yet another customer who used to get rail service but no longer does. Clark Cutl...

Why couldn't somebody with your appreciation/enthusiasm for the horn be trackside when I used to work that job? Lol. You sure did get me curios as to who the engineer on that run is nowadays. I'll be asking for sure.

I thought they'd just take a right at CP-SK on the east leg of the wye to traverse the Castleton Sub via the Castleton Bridge and CP-SM. As for the locomotives, everything was together for the entire trip. I would assume that the 642 was only used between NYP & NWK outbound and then from Empire ...

Thanks for all the responses. I have applied to Amtrak and I am even open to applying to the P&W, whom I know is now owned by G&W. I have thought about applying to Keolis but their starting training rate for a conductor is ridiculously low!! 10.00/hr until completing training!! No way I cou...
