A friend of mine who used to live near Nap said that Mr. Naporano did in fact very much dislike railfans.

So they are still in business- that's obvious.
I'm curious, why did they suddenly stop scrapping locomotives on a mass scale in 1994?

The unit shown in the picture I assume is #8640. That was retired in December 1982 and scrapped at CP's Angus shops two years later.
