Is the unit mechanically stripped on the inside or does it have any sort of slim possibility to come back to life in some way? As I understand it, she is pretty much a shell (she was gutted of some critical components like heads etc) but with the right kind of cash and time and effort anything can ...

That equipment is not owned by the Children's Museum but rather by the local NRHS Chapter.

To the best of my knowledge at least 430 and 432 have been recabled. I'd imagine 431 was recabled as well and I doubt 433 has been.

Sean. As a friend, quit while you're behind. Railroaders will always complain about whatever power the company buys. This complaining will get louder when they have an ear willing to listen and hang on to their every word. In this case, you were that ear. Here's a bit of insight, a locomotive is a l...

Hi guy, No customers exist behind the plaza. Once upon a time many moons ago, there was Frontier Telephone and Golden State Foods (McDonalds distributor) but they are both no longer rail served. Much of the siding for GSF is still in but the switch is out. Frontier has been torn out almost entirely....

Hi Greg!,

I'm not asleep, just lurking. Life's gotten busy with work and all. I only step in if I have to. Take care. :)

Hi all, Would any of you know of or have in your possession well dimensioned diagrams and or blueprints of the EMD Flexicoil B trucks with 9' wheelbase found under some EMD switchers (like this: http://bdrry.com/Locomotives/BDRV%20120 ... %20900.jpg ) and under a similar truck under the EMD FL-9 ( h...

For your information:

420's control stand is mounted parallel with the frame so "neck strain" is not really a factor and the seats do rotate as needed.

Charlie et al, Understand that if there was indeed a problem with the control stand on any locomotive (especially with the reverser or the throttle) that locomotive would not be on the road in service hauling trains, and definitely not in the lead. Railroads don't play games when it comes to faulty ...

Does anyone know anything about the Owasco River Railway? On Wikipedia, there is an article about this railroad in Auburn, NY however I am looking for a railroad of the same name (possibly the same railroad) in Orleans County, NY. Found this name looking at an old map of Orleans county. Any thoughts?

Which is not to say everyone in every socie...
