Tom,Em and all: Thanks for the info - Are 9609-10 still around? This pair has blue stripes and is the last pair with the Gabreski-era WE SERVE WITH PRIDE still on them. Also car 9204 still has this too. I remember that it was separated from its mate for a time. I also remember noting that 9755-6 are...

BOB: It seems to me that MNCR has a better repore with the rail fan community than the LIRR. The 1100 MNCR trip was like a railfan "Family gathering" to me. MNCR has that great Croton Shop open house each year - I have been to Hillside once on a NRHS trip - LI Sunrise Trail Chapter tour ba...

MATT: I have used Day Passes in the past and I have never had a problem with them. On the other hand, using these special passes...They are a good deal for the price but are they worth the hassle that can happen? It seems to me that inconsistency is the norm at SEPTA. MACTRAXX

Clem: Thanks for the info - as I mentioned I was schooled from an early age on RR electricity and you are right about the MUs-they are quiet - Being alert to your surroundings on the railroad is necessary to stay safe. As I said,I never walk on tracks anymore-especially third-rail electrified ones -...

R3: These passes are NOT the same as a regular Day Pass. What they are is one day ANYWHERE passes - but are not valid between Levittown and Trenton at all times and all AM PEAK travel to Phila. They are much better as on a regular DP you would get only one RRD ride. On transit other than RRD,They ar...

Tom: Thanks for the reply. I am currently in Philadelphia at the NRHS library doing archive work. Some interesting things occasionally come thru here - I have a copy of two interesting publications on the M1s: 1-A 4-page copy of brief specifications for the M1s by the Budd Company dated 10/28/68 and...

Chuchubob: The pass itself notes this. Since they are sold at Levittown, they are not valid between Levittown and Trenton. What was said to you makes my point-Why can't SEPTA be consistent in its policy regarding these passes? MACTRAXX

TO N340SG Tom: As a LIRR buff interested in the M1 cars,I would like to know about car 9674. On the north side of the car as it points east there are at least two discernible shades of blue on this car side. The numeral digits on the carside stripe are white helvetica numerals-the same as used by MN...

SEPTA BOUQUET PASSES and TURBO PASSES-Some things you should know about these passes are: During the time of the Auto show (FEB.5 to 13th) and the Flower Show (March 6 to 13th) SEPTA sells an almost UNLIMITED use day pass for the days in this period. There are pratfalls all users should watch and be...
