Warwick, NY M&NJ/East Penn Rail Replacement

There is a crew in front of the Warwick station replacing stick rail. No new ties. The rail runs past the car wash towards the yard. The track from Forrester Ave to the yard has been looking like a roller coaster lately. Does this work have anything to do with more trains, since NYSW has been placin...

This is info I received from a friend. Washington Avenue in New Market and at Durham..... could have been Talmadge Road or the road by the old Rickels Warehouse. Crossings west of Metuchen.

Does anyone know why the highway crossing signal gates/arms along the Branch have been removed after Hurricane Sandy?

Don't forget to look for the old US ARMY Nike Missle Base adjacent to Hadley Airport. Historic Aerials now has Topographical maps available below and to the left of the screen.

Well, I have not been to Woodbridge in years and I just noticed that the Heresite building that I talked about is gone...... only a flat stretch of vacant land. It's at the Woodbridge Center Drive and Main Street intersection. The road on the map called Mutton Hollow is named after one of the clay c...

If you are coming out of the Mall, heading towards Woodbridge Ave/Main Street, you will come up to a traffic light. Directly across the street and slightly to the left is the Heresite building. There used to be a gate in their cyclone fence to the right of the building.... this gate was for the trac...

SN Tower was on the west leg of Kilmer wye track. Durham Siding used to extend all the way there and you could actually head west out of Kilmer and go directly to the runaround track without fouling the main. I call it a "Tower" but on the RDG track maps it shows as SN Office. Have no idea...

Relay boxes have been placed at both ends of the Durham runaround track. Electric switch locks at each end.

The ex-Reading Port Reading Branch has recently had signals installed from South Bound Brook, NJ, to Port Reading, NJ. I have heard that CSX has something to do with this even though most trains on the Branch are NS. Can anyone help on this? Maybe CSX is contemplating running more freight from the o...

I heard from a friend, that CSX might be involved in this project. Has anyone ever heard or seen a CSX train on the Branch?

Maybe this has something to do with the Port Reading Branch recently having signals installed. See other Post re: Signals on Port Reading Branch. Guess it will really mean something if an extension is built at PD to divert Branch trains south over the Chemical Coast.

The line has never had signals except for the Pennsy style dwarf (although they were about 5 feet tall) signals that were on the Camp Kilmer extension at the wye track at Durham where SN Tower was located. There also used to be double track from around Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge straight into Port ...

Can anyone give me info on the new signals on the Port Reading Branch? They are near the old New Market Siding, near the old site of SN Tower east of Durham Siding and at the Route 35/ St. George's Avenue crossing in Woodbridge.

Metuchen had a great customer in Celotex. They had two tracks and would receive a few cars every weekday. It then changed to Oakite and was still pretty busy. Down the tracks towards South Plainfield in the 1970's was Premium Plastics. They had a siding off the west leg of the Camp Kilmer Wye track,...
