with a space like that, it may be easier to build 'up' rather than 'out' ... personally I like taking stuff between two points, so I would have a few industries up on top and a yard at the bottom, connected by a helix of sorts of a mainline, taking up most of your table....something like the RIT mod...

I picked up a copy of the newish Trainz 2004 (TRS2004) yesterday at my local EB for $9.99...the official website still trys to sell it for $49.99. I don't know if this is hot or not, but I thought $10 for a train game was pretty good. you can find it online at: http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/239...

Otto - I have to disagree with you on one point, and you too Mike... I can see the concern that some people have about being titled 'railfan', but I think they should be whimsical names. The number of posts (how much they contribute) is visible right under the avatar, as is the experience (the date ...

Theres a one paragraph article with a picture in this month's N-scale magazine (don't ask why I got one, I don't know) about using fake fur in great quantities for hillsides. If it works in N-scale, I'm sure you could at least use it to some extent in HO scale.

by defult in the original version, the front couplers did not work. the official patch on the MS site fixes this, as well as many other bugs. I highly recommend upgrading to the latest version.

Anyone know of a good way to design a layout for passenger operations? Or any resources of books etc that would help? Most of the layouts I've seen are designed solely for freight or designed primarily for freight with a secondary mission of passenger operations. There are substantial differences be...

I have to admit I have only tried to run a DCC loco on DC track once, and it just sat there, much like I had anticipated. The reason is that DCC does not rely on the track voltage to determine the power applied to the motor. It relies on the signals sent on the tracks in a digital format. I have don...

I have a BC350A - but you need to be careful, as most states (as well as PA if I remember correctly) require you to be a law enforcement official or an amateur radio operator to have one in your car...

the short answer: No

It usually varies by the company and the crossing. Stop and protect orders are usually given out based on the individual crossings, but the company may have a general order too...more information (what crossing, what company) may yield better answers...or you can try calling the company and asking s...
