Hi Rudy
Where is the reefer heading in the photo?

Hi Scot
I have always considered them RS-3U's, as they were an upgrade of existing components, and horsepower. The units were not just modified (chop nosed, improved electronics, prime mover mods) they were significantly upgraded with a 2000hp 251 V-12, so my vote is for "U".

Hi Scot
The 2 railroad's are linked by the current President of the WNY&P, who was President of the D&H just prior to the CP Rail era. And of course, those amazing Alco's.

Hi
Maybe we will get to see something like this on the WNY&P. They do have an important link to the D&H, and this would look very cool.
The photo is my N-scale kitbash from over 25 years ago.

Sadly, the Alco/MLW clean out continues on the M&E. Former Erie Mining RS-11 7215, and Former CP Rail C-424 4216 have both been scrapped. For memory, this leaves only the faithful 18 & 19, plus former CPR 4204 on the property. RS-1 # 21 is at the WRM. To all our friends on the other side of ...
Hi
4231 was originally numbered 21 on the M&E when it first went into service at Bayway. Not sure when it was renumbered, but it also did a stint on the old Octoraro in Pennsylvania when the M&E operated that line for a short time. May have been used elsewhere as well.

Thought it was about time to get an update on this topic, if anyone has any news.
As for my diesel status. My N-scale model of WNYP 630, is nearly ready for decals.

Thanks for the photos Rudy. Sad to see another MLW get the axe, but if it keeps other Alco power going a little longer, then it's a good cause. What parts get salvaged for reuse in other Alcos? I have a use for the cab, but I don't think I could afford the postage.

Thanks Sandy. At least I managed a photo when we visited, nearly 2 years ago.

Hi I thought I knew lots about the motive power of the Lamoille Valley, but I've just seen something on Ebay that was a complete surprise. There are a couple of slides for sale, showing Cartier Geeps in Morrisville. What's the story behind the pair of Canadian built GP-9s. The slides are dated July ...
Many thanks Eugene, always great to hear from you guys. I'm sure the railroad(s) and those awesome Alco's are in great hands.

That's cool.
Hi
Many thanks for the help. I have twice photographed trains at the junction just south of the overbridge, once in 1980 and again in 1985. That's where I was hoping to get to. Will use your directions when we get there later this year.

Thanks for the update Jim. I had a cab ride in the 1280 in 1985, so I was hoping to get some detail photos to help me build an N-scale model of her. Had my hopes up for a while
