Metro has announced that May 19th will be the opening day for the new Metrorail station at Potomac Yard. https://www.wmata.com/about/news/Potoma ... g-Date.cfm
Honestly, this seems entirely unnecessary. I've been on systems with them, and it's a nice idea and maybe should be part of new construction, but to retrofit it onto Metro seems completely cost prohibitive and, again, unnecessary.
I'd never seen someone vaping yet, but last week on my commute home someone was smoking a blunt on a Green line train heading into DC.

Adam Tuss has a tweet with video of the new swinging faregates Metro is testing, which include a bright orange color in addition to the clear plexiglass. https://twitter.com/AdamTuss/status/162 ... NfEQ0AwGVQ
Having ridden the line a few times now, I can say that it's incredibly smooth. I was also surprised at how smooth the orange line is between EFC and Rosslyn. I road the Yellow from Lenfant to Eisenhower many, many times and there were some incredibly rough spots along that segment. Oh, and I always ...
I'm curious how shuttle buses will work for the shutdown of the orange and silver lines in Virginia. For us silver folks, commuter buses from some stations directly into DC? Or maybe to a convenient orange line station past the closure?

We don't know much yet, at least officially, about what was discussed. But this NBC News 4 article gives us some hints, and Adam Tuss tweeted a few other pieces, too. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/metro-holding-emergency-board-meeting/3255388/ and https://twitter.com/AdamTuss/status/16146...
